A fully equipped Pilates-only studio in North Waterloo, owned and operated by Mary Pat Byrne.
Opened in 2003, the studio is bright, clean and spacious; and was the first Pilates facility in Kitchener-Waterloo to offer both mat classes and personal instruction on specialized Pilates resistance equipment. This unique equipment, originally designed by founder Joseph Pilates, includes the Reformer, Cadillac (also known as the Trapeze Table) and Wunda Chair.
Registered Group Mat Classes
Registered group mat classes for all Pilates levels, organized typically in eight week sessions, are offered by certified instructors of The Pilates Method throughout the year. The classes, offered on various days and times to suit busy schedules, are 1 hour in length and limited to 12 to 14 participants. See the current class schedule for details on the current session.
Men and women of all ages are welcome!
The classes are designed to include a wide variety of Pilates based exercises focusing on stretching, strengthening, and rebalancing the whole body. Emphasis is placed on the core muscle system and increasing body awareness to maximize results. Students are encouraged to work at their own level in a non-competitive atmosphere. They will receive clear and concise cueing and guidance throughout their workout. Modifications are provided for those with special needs (including pregnancy, back conditions, arthritis, MS, etc). As with any fitness program, it is recommended that clients consult with their physician prior to enrolment.
Private and semi-private instruction is available for beginner to advanced students. A qualified instructor will assist participants with a combination of body movements which may include exercises from the mat repertoire and/or the Pilates resistance equipment. Private training allows the student(s) to refine movements, address any challenges they may be experiencing with their body, or even personalize a workout for home use.
Individual trial classes are available (prior arrangements must be made) however, it is highly recommended that students follow the progression of an entire session to make it a true experience.
